Mouthwatering Recipe Book Series Launch June 21, Recipe Classes at Shankara on Saturdays in July
Hello, readers. I hope you’re feeling high vibrations while enjoying rainbow-colored fruits! Where I live, outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, we’re coming up on the start of summer, my favorite season. For me, there’s no better way to kick it off this year than by having a book-launch party for my Mouthwatering Recipe Book Series at the next All-You-Can-Eat Buffet—formerly called “potlucks”—at the raw vegan café Arnold’s Way in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Join 75 or more health-seeking patrons Saturday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. for Greater Philadelphia’s best food spread and a talk by me on the many facets of the word “freedom” and my health journey. This promises to be the biggest event at Arnold’s Way so far in 2014. Most of the festivities likely will be held in the adjacent space, The Center for Longevity, a wonderful new business whose offerings include shiatsu and aerial yoga. Check out this Fruit-Powered Video I shot with owners Colin Flegeal and Kimberly Monks.
Next week, in your Fruit-Powered Magazine e-mail, I’ll have special preorder information, at a discounted rate, for the Mouthwatering Recipe Book Series! This four-volume series features recipes from Jesse Bogdanovich, Anna Chmielewska, Ashley Clark, Jenee Hallick, Harley Johnstone, Arnold Kauffman, Chris Kendall, Dr. David Klein, Elisa Oras and Karen Ranzi, all of whom have been featured in the Magazine, and myself. This collection looks—and tastes, for sure!—absolutely incredible! Plus, it has lots of personality! Colorful quotes and tips abound!

Anna Chmielewska of AnnaCdesign.com designed the volumes, and the results are covers and pages that leap out at you. This might just be the most appetizing recipe book series available! It’s perfect for those wanting to eat more healthfully, those transitioning to a raw food diet and even seasoned raw fooders wanting some dynamic recipes from a world-class lineup of raw fooders! All told, 80 recipes are featured—from smoothies and appetizers to main courses and dressings! I can’t stop making a new recipe in the Appetizers, Snacks and Party Dishes volume: Gazpacho Joy.
This week, Fruit-Powered Magazine, tells its 55th and 56th transformation stories. I profile Benjamin Beeler, a college student who’s far ahead of the curve when it comes to health at just 21 years old. An ultramarathoner and yogi, Ben has been pursuing optimal health for almost half his life already so he can maximize his vitality and performance. He shares his recipe for Simple, Sweet and Tangy Mango Tomato Dressing. Next week, look for his Top 5 Tips for shopping on a high-carb raw vegan diet!
Dan McGrogan, who I’ve had the pleasure to get to know the past few months, shares a transformation story on his journey to health, enabling him to drop 100 pounds and an addiction to alcohol, and feature story on the genesis of Nucleus Raw Foods, one of America’s robust raw vegan cafés—almost tripling in size after being open not even four months. Dan’s story will convince anyone that people are starved for some first-rate raw food cafés! Plus, catch up with my Nucleus Raw Foods review, in case you missed it last week.
Also in this week’s Magazine installment, Lessons from the Orchard guest writer Dr. David Klein shares an excerpt from Digestion Perfection with the Vegan Healing Diet Plan on understanding appetites. He zeroes in on essential and nonessential eating and delves into the “Somatic Inquiry.”
Quick reminder: I’m giving four recipe classes at 1 p.m. Saturdays in July at Chef Wendy Landiak’s Shankara Vegan Restaurant and Organic Juice Bar in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. These four classes will tie in with the launch of the Mouthwatering Recipe Book Series! Free yourself of any health challenges and come to learn how to make a variety of tantalizing recipes.
