About Fruit-Powered: The Salad Days of Brian Rossiter’s Health Journey
The day I consumed my first green smoothie, April 26, 2010, is the day my life changed. It took less than one week of enjoying these delicious, nutritious meals for breakfast for me to feel a seismic shift in health, and by then, I was committed to having them every day! Within three months, I began eating green smoothies during afternoons in addition to for my breakfasts. By October 1 of this magical year, I went vegan very naturally and easily, when my body told me it didn’t want animal products anymore, and three months to the day later, I went raw vegan to start off 2011! It took me four months to find my footing and eight more months to learn that I need to be wholly raw to feel my best. Along my meandering journey, I read and heard quite a bit of information about raw food and discovered many dead-ends. My one-time mentor Arnold Kauffman of the Lansdale, Pennsylvania, raw food café Arnold’s Way, says, “Everyone has a theory, and everyone is right.”
It wasn’t until I embraced a wholly low-fat raw food diet in late February 2012 that I began to feel my best by a country mile compared with subsisting on the standard American diet or even being 90 percent raw vegan. I cannot overstate or affix a price tag to the value of having boundless energy, a crystal-clear mind and a trim, strong body that works the way it’s supposed to. On this diet, I have also experienced exceptional overall health, youthful vitality, a euphoric sense of well-being, restful sleep and ease of digestion and elimination. My diet and lifestyle choices enable me to help protect Mother Earth’s precious and ever-scarcer land, water and fresh-air resources while giving fellow sentient earth and sea creatures the freedom they deserve.
About Fruit-Powered: Brian Rossiter’s Road to Being Pain Free After a Decade of Suffering
Just nine days before I started on my path to raw food, on April 17, 2010, I began practicing special posture exercises for chronic pain relief and peak performance that corrected my joint alignment and posture. After several months, I eliminated back pain and neck pain as well as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome, all of which I had suffered from for 10 years. This pain and limitation in my body had prevented me from doing the things I loved and leading the life I wanted. When I had restored enough of my body’s postural alignment to permit an increased amount of physical activity, I launched an evolving exercise routine whose cornerstone has long been, is and will always remain posture exercises and calisthenics.

Once I achieved success with a raw food diet and posture exercises, as my overall health soared, I discovered a calling: to spread the word about how electric peak health can make one feel. This newfound passion and desire birthed Fruit-Powered, a brand name that came to me while rebounding one Sunday afternoon in January 2012. I launched Fruit-Powered.com, Fruit-Powered Digest and Fruit-Powered Video as well as Alive!, a raw vegan guide designed to help anyone transition to this lifestyle, all from June to October 2012. I launched A Taste of Raw Food: 7 Days of Smoothies ‘n’ Salads and the four-volume Mouthwatering Recipe Book Series in January and June 2014, respectively.

About Brian Rossiter: Other Health and Lifestyle Interests and a Glimpse into His Life
To my knowledge, I’ve consumed more fruit, lettuce and celery than almost anyone alive since 2012. I ate 50,000 bananas and averaged about 2 pounds a day of the tender greens lettuce and celery in the five-year period from 2012 through 2016. I’ve embraced meditation, studying at a 10-day Vipassana Meditation retreat in Thailand in November 2013. I also practice eye relaxation and strengthening techniques with the goal of regaining my natural eyesight, having received Bates Method training in fall 2014 and summer 2015. Additionally, I received Craniosacral Fascial Therapy sessions in 2015 and 2016 to optimize brain function and release strain, some of which is connected to my eyesight challenges. I was trained in this healing modality by its creator, Dr. Barry Gillespie, in April 2016.
In addition to my raw food diet and keeping fit and functional, I enjoy exploring spirituality, spending time in nature, deep conversation, traveling, adventures, sports and creating and immersing myself in art such as music, photography, photo slideshows and short films. I also love learning about new things and pursue life with the zeal of a youngster. I’m a fervent Pearl Jam fan who’s been to 22 shows. Favorite song: “Black” by Pearl Jam.
