Hello, readers. June is upon us, summer will be here in a few weeks and I’m thrilled to be a raw fooder, presenting you this month’s Fruit-Powered Magazine! This e-magazine has grown, thanks to the wonderful contributions of so many folks who’ve shared their stories with me and you the past several months, and this month’s issue is the biggest and best yet!
Karen Ranzi, a world leader on raising healthy raw children, traces her family’s raw food journey and shares a wealth of information on her experiences leading a raw lifestyle for almost 20 years. The SuperHealthyChildren.com editor and author of Creating Healthy Children and a forthcoming recipe book also shares her Top 5 Tips on helping children enjoy more fruits and vegetables.
Tarah Millen shows you can keep raw, even if the temperature’s well below zero degrees, as it sometimes gets to be in her neck of the woods. The climate might be frigid at times for the 40BelowFruity.com editor, but she’s been on fire, putting out raw food videos weekly the past half-year. Tarah also shares her recipe for Sweet and Spicy Salsa in this issue.
I asked Jason Young to write me a 1,000-word story on his incredible raw food transformation after being magnetized by his colorful, inspiring account he shared during the April potluck at Arnold’s Way, a raw food café in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Jason came back to me with a story so deep, moving and humorous I didn’t dare cut down from his 2,700 words. His story instills in me the kind of fist-pumping fervor I felt when watching Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead.
I’ve had my eye on Being Vegan posters for about a year. Captivating and thought-provoking, these images, tied to blunt messages, reach my heart and make me want to shout louder that other creatures aren’t for us to eat or wear or for entertainment. Anna Chmielewska of Fruitarianna.com suggested I turn the Fruit-Powered Quote into posters, but I have Michael and Brook of Being Vegan to thank for the initial inspiration. Their transformation story differs from the others published in Fruit-Powered Magazine so far, but the veganism message is about so much more than food, as this couple have learned and share every day.
Speaking of Anna, whose website just launched a comic character, Curious Fruitarianna, and free recipe book, she shares with readers in this issue the first in a series of special stories on meditation. Anna has opened me to lots of ways we can improve our lives, and one key way is by quieting the hailstorm of noise around us and connecting within.
Arnold Kauffman of Arnold’s Way is the king of raw food YouTube videos, producing almost 1,000 of them, and he’s pumping out books, but it’s been years since he’s written articles for the Web. I asked him to write regular stories and am excited to bring you the first Stories from Arnold’s Way submission this month—on Angelina Jolie’s decision to undergo a double mastectomy.
Go Fruit-Powered to supercharge your life!
