Hello, readers! One of the things I’m focused on in 2016 is living a life of heightened gratitude and awareness. Each day, I’m jotting down five things I’m grateful for and also building daily e-mail reminders with messages from The Secret Daily Teachings by Rhonda Byrne and Giant Steps by Anthony Robbins. These words of wisdom beautify my life, raising my spirits in all I do.
Let me share a passage from The Secret Daily Teachings:
The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character.
—Buddha
I have no doubt this practice has inspired me to consistently set the bar higher with my workouts. I’m realizing stratospheric increases in repetition counts of bodyweight exercises that I never dreamed possible until only recently—700 squats, 700 crunches and 140 roller-coaster (Hindu) push-ups. I’m aiming for 1,000 of the first two exercises and 200 of this supremely challenging push-up variation in the next two weeks. I’m also excited for my workout journey to continue evolving, especially as I progress in my study of the Egoscue Method. In just a few months, I’ll be able to guide any of you looking to reverse and prevent pain as well as get into the best shape of your life by correcting your posture. The results of these E-cises, as they’re called, are extraordinary!
With Jason Kvestad, who was featured in Fruit-Powered Magazine in December 2014, Jay Kaiser is a force behind Terra Frutis, which he describes as an Ecuador-based “refuge” for raw vegans. Jay, who reversed symptoms of arthritis, candida overgrowth and other conditions thanks to making dietary changes, welcomes members of the raw vegan community to live rent-free on Terra Frutis’ 300 acres and contribute to the land’s food production. Jay’s is the 96th transformation story to be published in the Magazine. He shares a recipe, Raw Vegan Tacos, with health tips coming next week.
In his Lessons from the Orchard guest spot, Dr. David Klein recounts in colorful detail his recovery from ulcerative colitis, which robbed him of pristine health for eight years as a teen and young adult. His rejuvenation inspired him to pursue a career in which he’s guided thousands to restore their health. “I … envisioned that on a ‘fruitarian’ diet, my body would be able to totally purify itself, enabling me to ascend to my optimal state of being; all of my dreams would come to fruition if I ate my natural biological diet.” he writes.
