Wrapping up an Exciting and Productive Year, Reny Kattel’s Powerful Health Journey
Hello, readers! Welcome, December! Here we are in the year’s last month, a magical time of the year! I am excited about the growth of the raw food movement, having tracked news media coverage of it all year long. Interest in the fruitarian way of life is mushrooming, and it won’t be long until newspapers and magazines everywhere write about raw veganism the way they do veganism now.
Just think back 10 years ago about how veganism was considered “fringe,” according to the mainstream media. This viewpoint has changed dramatically, and raw veganism will get its time in the spotlight, and it’s up to the thousands of us around the world to make sure it’s here to stay so we get the world—peace, health and happiness for all, compassion for all living creatures and respect for the environment—we dream of!
I hope 2014 has been colorful, meaningful and fun for all you! I look back on this year and see productivity to the extreme. I launched five books in the first half of the year—A Taste of Raw Food: 7 Days of Smoothies ‘n’ Salads and the four-volume Mouthwatering Recipe Book Series—and worked with Arnold Kauffman, owner of the raw vegan café Arnold’s Way in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, to put out Healing Success Stories from Arnold’s Way in June. Three more titles from Arnold are in the hands of talented designer Anna Chmielewska, including Arnold’s Way Recipe Book.

All these projects—plus running Fruit-Powered.com and Fruit-Powered Magazine, putting out 48 weekly installments over 12 monthly issues this year, and working a day a week at The Raw Food Capital of the World—made for some challenging, ’round-the-clock days. To ensure I have the stamina to continue serving Fruit-Powered.com readers for many years to come, I’ve built in about 10 weeks off from the Magazine in 2015. We all need time to play, too!
Check out the books I highlighted above and dozens of other titles—Simply Vibrant Recipes is the newest addition—plus scores of home and kitchen products in the growing Fruit-Powered store! As gifts this holiday season, these products surely can last a lifetime!
I enjoyed recent coaching sessions with motivated transitioning raw fooders. One is ultramotivated, and her successes and improvements keep coming week by week! Explore my coaching plans to find out whether I’m suited to help you start your raw food journey or fine-tune your lifestyle.
Reny Kattel is an experienced, fearless health educator with a lot of wisdom to share. This 37-year-old from Estonia, now living in Croatia with her partner, Jesse Bogdanovich, went raw in 2005 and has completed several fasts of jaw-dropping lengths, including a 40-day water fast and nine-day dry fast. I was mesmerized while putting together Reny’s profile for this issue. She shares remarkable insight on so many topics, from getting all the nutrients our bodies need to physical activity. Reny shares her recipe for a green smoothie, Cosmic Blue Smoothie, this week, and in December 11’s installment, check out her Top 5 Tips for discovering your own perfect style of eating.
In his Lessons from the Orchard guest spot, Dr. David Klein offers a look at eating simply, especially at a time of year when many plop food after food on their plates at gatherings, before serving up an article on influenza shots by Dr. Vivian Virginia Vetrano published in the magazine Living Nutrition, the forerunner to Vibrance. Vibrance happens to be the inspiration for Fruit-Powered Magazine, and Dave is prepping a new issue as I write. I wrote the best article of my life for this issue, and it’s on the skyrocketing autism spectrum disorder rate. Be sure to check it out and subscribe!
This month, in weekly installments, look for:
