Fruit-Powered Quote; Preview of Redesigned Website
Hello, readers. Spring is here in Philadelphia, and we’re just a few weeks away from 70-plus-degree days and, in good time, the return of cheap, widely available watermelon!
I’ve been having lots of fun challenging myself by producing the Fruit-Powered Quote. Last summer and fall, I was continually uplifted by piercing words emblazoned on striking visuals I kept seeing on Facebook.com—Being Vegan has lots of fantastic examples—and Anna Chmielewska of Fruitarianna.com suggested I produce my own quotes adorned with images to kick off 2013. I’m so glad I did, no matter how many Sunday afternoons I spend pondering which quote and image to choose and fumbling around in Photoshop.
In just a short time, you’ll see a redesigned Fruit-Powered.com, creating a fresh Fruit-Powered experience. Anna has been working her design and website development magic on an enhanced site that puts Fruit-Powered Magazine‘s inspiring, informative transformation stories front and center and presents cleaner, streamlined navigation and an improved store. I’m excited to launch the site as well as a slightly retooled Magazine soon!
I had the privilege of talking to a raw food pioneer, Dr. David Klein, just a few days ago. Dave thrust himself into the raw food world as an educator, counselor, author, publisher, editor, talk show host and event organizer after healing from colitis and Crohn’s disease in the mid-1980s. He’s the creative force behind Vibrance, a wonderful raw food magazine and the inspiration for Fruit-Powered Magazine. Dave told me his story with such passion and detail. I hope you enjoy his profile story—as well as his recipe contribution!
I’m also happy to have gotten to chat last month with Jesse Bogdanovich by e-mail. Like Dave, Jesse is a raw food pioneer who overcame challenges and poor health to thrive on our natural diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Jesse, who was recently named the winner in Best of Raw’s Raw Coach 5+ category, shares insight on his triumphant journey in an interview. “Leading a raw food lifestyle, I noticed many amazing experiences, a deeper understanding of life and a huge spiritual connection, clear thinking, beautiful glow and a peaceful surrender where I forgave everyone and am one with all,” Jesse says. Wow! 🙂
A couple of quick notes: Karen Ranzi, author of Creating Healthy Children, featured Fruit-Powered on SuperHealthyChildren.com. Check out the post, published March 22. I was thrilled about this blog feature and to catch up with Karen at the Living Dynamically Wellness Expo in Exton, Pennsylvania, on March 23 after meeting her at a seminar she led with Dr. Doug Graham in October. She’s a warm, knowledgeable raw food pioneer who weaves plenty of personal experience into her informative talks.
On another note, Things You Can Do with Buckwheat in a Raw Kitchen, a recipe book by Anna Chmielewska of SweetVeganNature.com, is now available in the Fruit-Powered store. This book joins last month’s addition, Johnny Nucell, by Arnold Kauffman and Jessica Thim of the raw food café Arnold’s Way.
Go Fruit-Powered to supercharge your life!
